The Ayurvedic Medical College in Yadgir has all the mandatory infrastructure facilities as specified in the norms of CCIM, New Delhi.
The College boasts of a herbal garden having more than 294 medicinal plants species with over 1125 samples. Few endangered herbal species are seen here. States of art equipment are installed in college pharmacy to manufacture variety of classical Ayurvedic preparations.
The College library has ample space. It has a huge reading hall & a well furnished section containing more than 11,766 volumes on Ayurvedic and allied medicines.
The College owns Ayurvedic Hospital with 200-bed strength. Its OPD & IPD attract a huge number of patients, facilitating our students to get better clinical exposure.
An infrastructure of college building is segmented in well ventilated Classrooms, spacious Departments with equipped laboratories, Store, student support cell, Ladies room, Boy’s room, Sports room, Conference hall, Administrative office, Examination section & Principal’s cabin.
Departments at Sharada Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Yadgir
The college functions through 14 departments. All the departments work in full harmony and perform the task of running under graduate courses and other research in 14 specialties. For desired output, competent faculty are facilitated by well equipped laboratories & museums.
Laboratories
The College has fully equipped laboratories in various departments such as, Kriya Sharir, Rog Nidan, Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana Vigyan and Dravya Guna Vigyan to add to its prestige. All laboratories have latest equipments to help the students in their curricular works.
Some of the instruments that deserve a mention are Spirometer, Kymoraph, ECG machine, Response time Analyzer, instruments for animal studies, X-ray and Sonography machines, Centrifuge machine; Soxlet apparatus, Ovens, Furnaces etc.
Museums
All departments have exquisite models and charts that make up a knowledgeable museum. The students are explained the details of various Ayurvedic topics with help of these invaluable assets. Mummified bodies, skeletons, models of various organs, specimens, body system models, specially prepared charts, poisonous drug specimens, lethal weapons set, models of asphyxial death, water purification center model, sewage disposal model, sanitation models, rare Ayurvedic herbs and their photographs are some of the distinct features of the museums.
Departmental Library
The departmental libraries have good number of subject related reference books. Staff & students avail this at hand facility day to day.
The College houses a well-equipped and spacious library. Students make the best use of the library facilities to fulfill their academic and research requirements. The books range from thousands of years old classics up to latest editions of modern medical volumes. Peer reviewed journals & standard periodicals are obtained and added to the previous collection. The silent and peaceful atmosphere of the library ensures a studious ambiance.
Herbal Garden
The College boasts of a well - planned herbal garden that includes several extinct and rare species of flora. Total no. of species are more than 294 including rare species whereas total no. of medicinal plants are more than 1125. The students are motivated to take benefit of this garden to identify the species and to understand the morphological characterization of medicinal plants. UG and PG students from different college/ institutes, school students and common people visit herbal garden for identification of various plants on regular basis. Some of the plant products are also used for day to day preparation of herbal medicine.
